Kevin Murphy

Dance

Kevin Murphy is a vastly experienced teacher of Dance. Having taken his first steps with Dublin Youth Theatre he went on to study dance in Ireland and also in France at the Lyon Conservatoire. He has worked with a variety of Dance Companies such as Cois Ceim, Daghda Dance and Fluxus. He has appeared in the Abbey Theatre productions of "The Fall of Constance Wild " "The Colleen Bawn" and Opera Ireland's Production of "Lady McBeth of Mintensk" Kevin has also choregraphed "A Midsummer's Night Dream" for Barabbas Theatre Company.

He has taught dance at Trinity College and on Dance Projects for Dublin VEC and for many community groups countrywide. He has also worked with student groups in locations such as Birr, Blanchardstown Drogheda, Dun Laoghaire. He has facilitated groups of all ages from tiny tots to senior citizens and he has also been involved with events such as the St. Patrick's Day Festival in Dublin and Drogheda Samba Festival.

For the past five years Kevin has been teaching and directing in the Drogheda School of Performing Arts. He is pleased to be returning to Gormanston for a third visit.
